14/06/2011MYMobile Security Center has captured a new variant of the virus MSO.JSMSHider on Android devices. There is no icon for the app after installation. The virus will delete messages in the inbox and sent box received from the carrier without the users' awareness. It will also connect to network in the background to send out the user's privacy, such as IMRI, IMSI, geographical location. Meanwhile, it will send charged messages to cause financial losses to the user. It may download other malicious files to further threaten the device.
BW.BaseBridge.AN
09/06/2011MY Mobile Security has captured the virus BW.BaseBridge which attacks the phone by embedding itself in legitimate apps. Once the app is installed, the virus will modify the host application and prompt the user to update. Once the user choose to update, the malicious app is installed. Then, the virus will connect to network in the background to send out the user's IMEI, IMST, etc. It will also send messages as commanded by the server and auto reply, which may subscribe to services, thus causing financial losses and privacy leakage.
BD.ConsumeUpdate.A
19/05/2011MYMobile Security Center has captured the symbian virus BD.ConsumeUpdate, which invades the phone as group purchase application. Upon start, it will activate malicious processes in the background to consume fees and download other installation packages, which may pose further threats to the phone.
SK.HiddenTask.A
18/05/2011MYMobile Security Center has captured the virus SK.HiddenTask. Once installed and activated, it will connect to network and send out the user's privacy. Meanwhile, the app will silently get root access to the phone and install sub-packages. The virus is also capable of connecting to network to communciate with the server and then download other installation packages to silently install them under the control of the server, thus resulting in continued mobile threats to the phone.
