18/04/2011MYMobile Security Centre has recently captured a new variant of the virus DroidDream on Android devices. The virus will root the device taking advantage of the two exploits of the Android operating system: exploid and rageagainstthecage, and it will also silently install an embedded package com.android.providers.downloadsmanager to collect some information about the phone to a designated server and download some other malicious installation packages, posing security threats to the phone.

22/03/2011MYMobile Security Centre has recently captured a new variant of the virus MSO.PJApps on Android devices. Once activated, the virus will block messages from the carrier to prevent the user from getting subscription updates. It also pushes some ads by rolling displaying them on the app interface. Moreover, the virus will auto connect to the server to download a configuration list and may send charged messages based on the commands in the list, causing financial losses to the user.

04/03/2011MY Mobile Security Centre has captured the malware BD.DroidDream.( ad on letters from A-Z) on Android devices, which takes advantage of Android's two exploits exploid and rageagainstthecage to root the devices and silently install a package named com.android.providers.downloadsmanager in the background. The malware will collect some information about the phone, and send it to a remote server and it also downloads other malicious installation packages, thus resulting in serious privacy leakage.
SW.SecurePhone.A
24/02/2011MY Mobile Security Centre has recently captured the virus SW.SecurePhone (A and B) on Android devices. Once installed, there is no icon for the app and it will run in the background. The virus will record, at a certain frequency, messages, calls, location, sounds around the phone and photographs of the phone. It saves the abovementioned information to the SD card and upload it every now and then. This causes privacy leakage and fee consumption, thus affecting normal use of the phone.
SW.Qieting.A
24/02/2011MY Mobile Security Centre has recently captured the virus SW.Qieting on Android devices. There is no icon for the app after installation. The virus will monitor messages in the phone and forwared the messages to a certain number, which causes privacy leakage.
