22/02/2011MY Mobile Security Centre has recently captured a new variant of the virus BD.HongTouTou on Android devices, which lures the user to download and install with the name "Dynamic Footprint Wallpaper". Once activated, it will connect to network in the background and attempt to collect the user's privacy, encrypt it and send it to a remote server. Then, the virus will further analyze the user's privacy using key words, resulting in serious privacy leakage.

17/02/2011MYMobile Security Centre has recently captured a new variant of the virus OtherKiller. Released as "Anti-fee-consumption", it is actually a fraudware. Once installed on the phone, it may give misleading prompts to normal software in the phone and uninstall them, which affects normal use of the phone.

09/02/2011MY Mobile Security Centre has recently captured a new variant of the virus BIT.GeiNiMi on Android, which lures the user to download and install with the name "NetSentry". Once activated, it will connect to network at the background by the malicious plugin included and send out the user's privacy. Meanwhile, it will download other software at the background, which not only causes fee consumption but may also result in further losses to the user through downloading other malicious apps.

25/01/2011MY Mobile Security Centre has recently captured a new variant of the virus MSO.PJApps on the Android operating system, which lures the user to download and install by disguising itself as a safe application. Once activated, the virus will block text messages from 10086 or numbers beginning with 10086, which stops users from checking on subscribed services and also pushes repeated false advertisements on the main screen. Moreover, it will subscribe to the service named "Payment by Tools". The cost is charged to the user's phone bill without the user's awareness and thus causes financial losses to the user.

09/11/2010MYMobileSecurityhas recently captured the virus BD.DownCPlugin, which lures the user to download and install with the name ""Realplayer patch for RMVB"". Once installed, there is no icon or interface for the app and the virus will install the malicious plugins ""Standard C++ library Common plugin"" and ""Nokia record machine"", which will connect to the network at the background to consume fees and even cause reboot, thus affecting normal use of the phone.
